Fedora Core 8

It really does get easire. Apart from a huge download (My ISP only manages 1Mbps) for me for the Fedora 8 DVD, the upgrade took an hour and went well. 100 updates immediately of course, stopped totally by a lonely gecko-libs 1.8.1.8, required for liferea. Since I really don't know what the heck liferea is, I yum uninstalled it and retired to wait for 100 updates. FC8 up and running! As usual selinux complained, told me Python wanted access to a file! Horror of horrors. Ditto Firefox. I now have an image of selinux with jackboots and a little moustach. End of rant.

At the same time DC said my feed was invalid! As is often the case, he's right. I'd messed with the date filtering and omitted the required hyphens for rfc3339. W3C is helpful in correcting this. At the same time the validator showed lots of nits up that I'd like to correct, but some seem really weird. Thou shalt not use a: for an atom namespace? Nor xhtml:! Why?Missing atom:link? I couldn't find that in the spec, but the explanation does make sense. And so on. this is the current list.

Now corrected I'm valid, but not pretty, or whatever W3C want to call it.
