Ceramic kitchen knife

I've had a six inch kitchen knife for some time now, that has consistently annoyed me. I sharpen it and within (seemingly) days it is blunt again. I was in town today killing 30 minutes and went into a kitchen shop. In the knives section there was a five inch slicing knife, ceramic blade, from Kyocera (copiers? cameras?). Anyway, I bought it. Present to our kitchen. Not dishwasher proof - expected. Exceedingly light and has the appearance of being 'ground'. Instructions talk about not sharpening it, which is a bit odd. I guess most tools simply won't touch it. Very easy to clean, seems nothing sticks to it. My biggest concern is that I'll drop it.. and it will smash, being both hard and brittle. We'll see.
