I've been with my current internet service provider since 2002. I chose them through a recommendation and they've been reliable. I have had downtime, but not very much. In 2004 they joined (takeover/merger whatever) Pipex, one of the big UK providers. No change in the quality of service so I stayed put. The only down side is they are bloody expensive. I've paid ~£30pm for a long time now. With a decent bandwidth the common UK price is less than £20pm. Yesterday I went on their website and saw a better service than I'm getting advertised for £17pm . I rang and they agreed to change my contract. I can see why they wouldn't contact me, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully the service quality will remain high!
