It is (was?) my grandmas birthday today. I guess she'd have been over 100 by now. Lovely lady. My 'inheritance' from her, shared with two other cousins, was used to buy my first SLR, a Pentax Spotmatic.... if you go that far back.

For my birthday I ordered a set of extension tubes for my Canon. This is the result... or if you get it.

I've never used tubes before, but always liked the impact of closeup photography. Now I know why the macro lenses are often around 100mm equivalent. For this one I was about 4 inches from the focal plane, or around 4mm from the object with the lens itself. I guess I need to play a little more!
